Teamwork

Skrivanek is one of the few translation companies in Poland with an extensive back office: an in-house team of translators, proofreaders, DTP specialists and project managers working in the Project and Quality Management Section (ZPiJ). Each person in the ZPiJ section is a valuable member of the team, and each individual’s success translates into the success of both the back-office and the entire company.

Roles and responsibilities

If your project is handled by ZPiJ, the entire translation project is under strict control. Clear division of roles and responsibilities ensures efficient and professional service and coordination of all jobs, irrespective of size. The ZPiJ section is responsible for all strategic projects, including EU translation assignments. If there is a need, ZPiJ delivers training seminars on CAT (Computer-Aided Translation) tools.

Translators, proofreaders and DTP specialists

The team of in-house translators comprises around twenty people working in language combinations that include PL, EN and DE. The team’s basic responsibility is prompt delivery of the highest quality translations. They also create a repository of Translation Memories (TMs) and terminology databases, which provide dependable linguistic consistency even in large and complex projects. The team of proofreaders and verifiers is made up of specialists working in Polish, English, French, German and Russian. Its underlying strength is native speakers ensuring the highest linguistic correctness and consistency of translations. The team of DTP specialists is responsible for desktop pre- and post-processing of translation documents, typesetting of all kinds of publications and professional technical support.

Project managers

The tasks of project managers include comprehensive management of translation workflows, from selecting appropriate vendors and providing organisational support to in-house checks and contacts with our internal customers.
